Licensed Clinical Social Worker

About

With 35 years of experience in the mental health field, I specialize in providing psychotherapy services
to children, teens, adults, and families. As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota, I
earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Minnesota.

In 1993, I co-founded the Family Enhancement Center, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing and treating
child abuse. Serving as the Executive Director from 2000 to 2024, I provided mental health services to
individuals, groups, and families impacted by abuse, developed programming, and supervised staff.

Currently, I continue delivering mental health services to families affected by abuse, supervise other
providers, and actively contribute to statewide education on child abuse prevention. I also serve as a
member of the Supreme Court Council for Child Protection, advocating for systemic change.

  • I have training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, SMART, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. My
approach also integrates Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing,
    Play Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy.

Community Contributions and Recognition

I am passionate about giving back to my community. I co-chaired the Spiritual Communities Action
Team, a statewide initiative engaging faith leaders to address child sexual abuse.

My work has been recognized with the following honors:

  •  2011 Children’s Law Center of Minnesota’s Heroes for Children Award for advocacy with foster
